ScanMind is an independently developed, local-first iPhone document scanner and organizer. This page explains how product claims, privacy statements, recognition guidance, and release information are reviewed before they appear on the website.

What is ScanMind?

A private paper inbox for iPhone.

ScanMind captures or imports documents, performs current OCR and supported field extraction on the iPhone, preserves the original, and organizes confirmed records for later search and export. It requires iOS 17 or later and supports English and Simplified Chinese. Version 1.0 has been publicly available on the App Store since August 3, 2026.

How are product claims verified?

Website claims are checked against the native iOS implementation, platform configuration, privacy manifest, StoreKit configuration, support documentation, and automated tests. Statements about the minimum iOS version, monthly free allowance, watermark-free export, optional iCloud Drive sync, recent-deletion period, and purchase model are published only when the corresponding behavior exists in the project. Public availability is checked against Apple's published product page before the website links to the download.

What does local-first mean here?

Scans, imported files, recognized text, extracted fields, and search data stay in the app container by default. Current text recognition and field extraction use Apple on-device frameworks. Local-first does not mean a file can never leave the phone. A user can explicitly export or share a document, enable optional sync to their own iCloud Drive, or include app data in an Apple-managed device backup. Those boundaries are stated on the homepage, privacy page, support page, and product-facts file.

How should recognition results be used?

OCR and structured fields are suggestions for review, not a replacement for the source document. Blur, glare, perspective, layout, small type, abbreviations, and recognition substitutions can change or hide values. Important totals, dates, names, identifiers, warnings, and instructions should be compared with the saved original before filing or acting. ScanMind is not a legal, medical, safety, accounting, or regulatory verifier.
